What is Jitsu?
A Martial Art
Jitsu or Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art that uses a series of throws, joint locks and strikes to counter punches, kicks, grabs, strangles and weapon attacks. It focuses on using your aggressor's energy to counter their threat.
Fun
Jitsu is great fun and provides an opportunity for you to meet new friends. Training isn't all there is to Jitsu and you don't just try to hit people, you also can hit the bars and clubs! Regional and national events allow our club and other clubs to come together and practice Jitsu.
For anyone
Any person can train in the art of Jitsu. You do not have to be fit and strong, these both improve as you progress in training. Size does not matter, as Jitsu uses techniques effecitve against any person. As well as being a realistic form of self defence, Jitsu is also great exercise.
